Milwaukee Navy Week (July 14–20, 2025) is part of the U.S. Navy’s nationwide outreach effort, designed to connect Sailors with communities far from naval installations. This year’s event coincides with the 250th birthday of the U.S. Navy, marking a historic celebration of a quarter‑millennium of maritime service. During the seven‑day week, over 50 Sailors—including Navy Band Great Lakes musicians, cryptologic warfare specialists, and namesake Sailors from USS Milwaukee (LCS 5)—will engage with local residents through diverse events, educational programs, and community service initiatives. Key highlights include community service with Revitalize Milwaukee and Hunger Task Force Farm; musical performances at iconic venues; a city proclamation and Vietnam veteran recognition at the War Memorial; interactive virtual reality demos at the Air & Water Show; culminating Blue Angels performances; and a Veterans Breakfast at the VA. High‑profile attendees include Rear Adm. Matthew Pottenburgh and Cmdr. Julie Holland. Lt. Lanika Vann reflects on her role inspiring local youth. Navy Week is part of a larger national effort reaching 140 million people with ~75 events. Sources: outreach.navy.mil, navy.mil, TMJ4.com, wispro.org, va.gov
